Thijs is a doctoral student who joined the OPSIS and Complexity Economics groups in fall 2024 under the supervision of Professors Jim Hall and François Lafond. His research focuses on quantifying the impact of natural disasters on supply chains and critical transportation infrastructures.
Thijs brings a multidisciplinary background to his work. He holds dual Bachelor’s degrees in Econometrics and Operational Research and in Economics and Business Economics, both earned with cum laude honours from Erasmus University Rotterdam. In 2024, he graduated with distinction from the MSc in Statistical Science programme at the University of Oxford.
